Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, added another feather to his illustrious career, as he got an airport named after him in Funchal, Madeira - the star's hometown
However, the multi millionaire got an awkward surprise when he unveiled his own statue, which amazingly didn’t resemble the Real Madrid superstar.
The Ronaldo’s bronze statue has sparked a raft of impressions and jokes, as fans move to Twitter to give their word on the new bust.
People were quick to point out that the artwork is far from a perfect likeness of the former Manchester United forward.
While Ronaldo was at the event, the statue was the subject of plenty of mockery among the social circles.
Some users compared the bust unfavourably to one from Art Attack, while several others pointed out that it bore more resemblance to former Sunderland and Republic of Ireland striker Niall Quinn than the Portuguese star.

For a very handsome man, Ronaldo has had some appalling luck with statue-makers pic.twitter.com/M74YEDng4c— Tom Williams (@tomwfootball) March 29, 2017
