Opening Batsman Shahzaib Hasan has been provisionally suspended and charged, after he appeared before the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) anti corruption unit, on Friday.
The opening batsman has been charged with violations of Code Articles 2.1.4, 2.4.4 and 2.4.5 and now has 14 days to respond to the Notice of Charge.
"The Pakistan Cricket Board has today issued Shahzaib Hasan a Notice of Charge and provisionally suspended him with immediate effect from participating in all forms of cricket. Shahzaib has been charged with violations of Code Articles 2.1.4, 2.4.4 and 2.4.5 and now has 14 days to respond to the Notice of Charge," reads the PCB statement.
Previously, Shahzaib recorded his statement before PCB on Wednesday, where the batsman revealed that his family was being threatened by the bookies, citing it as a reason behind his failed to report to the anti corruption unit earlier.
It is pertinent to inform that Shahzaib came forward to report approaches made on him during the PSL. However, unlike Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan who were provisionally suspended by the PCB, he and Irfan were not suspended and were allowed to continue playing for their respective teams.
Later on Muhammad Irfan was suspended by the PCB, and a charge sheet was submitted against him.
