British Airways under fire for running out of food
British Airways (BA) is facing a backlash from passengers after running out of food on flights.
The problems sparked a wave of complaints from customers, many of whom are still furious over the BAs recent decision to scrap free food on short-haul trips.
Tessa Evans Hurrell, a passenger flying from London to the Canary Islands claimed that the cabin crew ran out of food by the time the trolley was halfway down the plane. In a letter to the Daily Telegraph, she added: They just had a couple of packets of biscuits and nuts [left] ... Our 11-year-old daughter was in tears she was so hungry.
Another passenger said that the same thing happened on a flight back from Fuerteventura on Saturday. Nancy Sproston wrote on Twitter: Terrible flight. Ran out of food altogether by row 19. Whats going on?
The airline also faced criticism for running out of loo roll mid-flight.
According to the Daily Mail, on a flight to London from Innsbruck, Austria, last week, there were just three sandwiches left for 110 passengers.
Earlier this month a BA flight to Barbados was grounded at Gatwick for more than five hours because there was not enough toilet roll on board.
