FAISALABAD: Punjab Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan Sunday said Punjab government according to the vision of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was paying special attention towards the provision of most advanced and quality healthcare facilities to people at their door steps.
Addressing a briefing regarding the pace of construction work of extension project of Government General Hospital Samanabad here, he said that billions of rupees were being spent on the up-gradation of Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospitals in addition to provide latest machinery and other equipments in public hospitals.
He said the incumbent government believed in services of masses and basic amenities of life were being provided to the people at their door steps.
He said that people of Faisalabad were being provided with expanded medical facilities and new hospitals were being established at different corners of the city to decrease burden of Allied and DHQ hospitals, besides up-gradation of existing hospitals.
Now 50-bed Govt General Hospital Samanabad was being expanded to 255-bedded which was the dire need of the area.
He said the Punjab government had allocated funds of Rs 43.83 billion in current financial year for strengthening health sector and revamping the public sector hospitals in order to provide better and advanced medical facilities to the patients near their localities.
He said the largest Children Hospital of the Asia was being completed in Faisalabad in which outdoor and emergency facilities had been made functional.
Rana Sanaullah Khan said the Government General Hospital Samanabad would be upgraded to the status of a DHQ Hospital and the government would provide latest equipment to the hospital.
He also met with members of the Samanabad Welfare Society and appreciated services of the society.
He also took a round of hospital and reviewed medical facilities being provided in the hospital.
He expressed satisfaction over the facilities being extended to the patients in the hospital and praised construction work of the building.
Principal PMC Prof. Dr. Alfareed Zafar, CEO District Health Authority Dr. Nawazish Goraya, Medical Superintendents Allied and General Hospital Samanabad Dr. Rashid Maqbool, Dr. Khalid Fakhar, AC City Bilawal Abro, Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Councilors, Members of Samanabad Welfare Society, PML-N Workers and people of PP-70 were also present.
