Pakistan’s first ever animated TV series ‘Burka Avenger’ has been nominated for the International Emmy Kids Awards.
Haroon Rashid, the creator and director of ‘Burka Avenger’ took Twitter to make an official announcement about the nomination and said, “Wow! ‘Burka Avenger’ has been nominated for an ‘International Emmy’ congratulations to Pakistan & congratulations to the ‘Unicorn Black’ team”.
‘Burka Avenger’ is a story of a girl named ‘Jiya’, who is a super hereon. Jiya wears ‘Burka’ to hides her identity from the rest of the world and fight for justice, peace and education.
‘Burka Avenger’ stars Anny Jafferi and Hamza Ali Abbasi, who lend their voices for characters of Jiya and Baba Bandook respectively. Popular singers including Ali Zafar, Haroon, Ali Azmat, Josh and Adil Omar have contributed special musical composition for the series.
The IEKA awards ceremony will held in New York on February 20, 2015.
