imagePESHAWAR: The Met Office Wednesday predicted rain with snowfall over the hill at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara and Peshawar divisions during next 24 hours.

According to Met Office, a westerly wave is prevailing over upper and central parts of the country and is likely to persist during next 24 to 36 hours in upper parts of Pakistan. As result, rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar and Kohat divisions, while at isolated places in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Quetta, Zhob and Kalat divisions.

Snowfall is also forecast on hills of Galayat and Murree while Abbottabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Saidu Sharif and Kalam are expected to receive rain during the said period. The weather of Peshawar is cloudy and cold breeze are blowing, turning the weather very cold. People have been forced to wear additional warm cloth to avoid chilly weather.

Cloudy weather conditions would prevail in upper and central parts of the country, whereas cold and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

In next 48 hours, mainly very cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places of Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Weather remained very cold and dry in most parts of the country. However, rain occurred at scattered places of Balochistan.

The maximum rain was received by Panjgur 30milimeter followed by Jiwani 16, Gawadar 15, Dalbandin 12, Ormara 10 Pasni 8, Kalat, Parachinar, Nokkundi 2 and Quetta 1. The coldest places are Skardu -12 C, Astore -11 C, Parachinar -9 C, Gupis, Hunza -8 C, Malamjabba -7 C, Rawalakot and Drosh -5 C.
