"It is an attempt to humiliate Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif before international leaders," he told the media at Railways Headquarters here on Sunday where a press conference was arranged to inform the nation about the 100-day performance of the PR but the minister postponed the conference to express solidarity with the Christian community.
He said the attack on any religious place was a brutal and inhuman act, adding the whole nation felt its pain. Condemning the attack, the minister said it was also an attempt to sabotage proposed dialogue and political process between the state and Taliban as it was decided few days ago in a grand meeting of all parties and national institutions to give a chance to dialogue for peace in the country.
He said earlier senior officers had been martyred in the area of Dir to instigate the forces but the Chief of Army Staff had shown patience and expressed his determination by backing politicians for dialogue.
He said the federal government already was cooperating with the KP government to combat terrorism. " But I once again assure our cooperation to the KP government for peace," he added.
Khawaja said the nation, institutions and politicians were united and an all-out effort would be made to rid the nation of terrorism.
PR General Manger Operations Anjum Pervaiz, PR Police Inspector General Ibne Hussain and PR AGM Javaid Anwar were also present.
