ISLAMABAD: Bilateral relations and regional situation especially resumption of strategic dialogue between Pakistan and the United States besides the issue of drone strikes will be discussed with US Secretary of State John Kerry, who is arriving on three-day visit to Pakistan on Wednesday night.
According to Foreign Office sources, John Kerry will arrive in Islamabad on Wednesday to discuss various issues including bilateral relations and regional situation.
During his stay, the US Secretary of State will meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and hold talks with Advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, besides meeting some of the political leadership of Pakistan.
The two sides are expected to discuss resumption of strategic dialogue as well as cooperation in different fields including energy, the Foreign Office officials said.
Pakistan and US will hold threadbare discussion on regional situation with particular reference to post 2014 situation in Afghanistan.
Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz in an interview said the issue of resumption of Pak-US Strategic Dialogue will be taken up during US Secretary of State John Kerry's visit to Pakistan.
He said an important point in the strategic dialogue will be granting access to Pakistani products to the US market. He said US is a big trade partner of Pakistan.
Sartaj Aziz said issues relating to drone attacks in Pakistan's tribal areas and the situation in Afghanistan would also come up for discussions.
