imageLAHORE: In a rare achievement, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his younger brother Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif are going to become prime minister of Pakistan and chief minister Punjab, third time respectively, in the parliamentary history of the world.

Secretary General, Pakistan Muslim League, Punjab and former provincial minister, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar told APP here Sunday that PML-N won general election with a thumping majority only on the basis of its performance. He said politically conscious people voted to power PML-N keeping in view of its excellent performance and dedication coupled with devotion to the welfare of poor segment of the society.

He said that by the grace of Allah Almighty, PML-N under the dynamic leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, had a highly qualified and fairly competent team in its ranks.

About the party manifesto, announced by the party chief, he said that all out sincere efforts would be made to materialize the dream within its 5 year tenure.

Raja said that double annual average rate of GDP growth from 3% in the last 5 year to over 6 % in the next five years.

He said that rate of industrial growth would be accelerated from the current 3 to 8 per cent per annum while budget deficit will be brought down to 4% of GDP.

Regarding energy sector, he said that according to PML-N manifesto, 10,000 MW additional power including 5000 MW coal fired power will be added to national grid besides mobilization of fresh investment of $ 20 billion for power plants and its related infrastructures in addition to curtailing transmission and distribution line losses to 10 per cent.

Raja said that other vital sectors like agriculture, food security, education, health, science and technology, Information Technology, employment, overseas Pakistanis and engineering will be accorded highest priority.

He said that PML-N government is not only committed but also determined to live upto the aspirations of the people who had reposed confidence in the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He said that all problems confronting the poor segment of society would be resolved through good governance and highest degree of transparency and merit.
