Al khidmatKARACHI: Al-Khidmat has launched "Orphan Care Programme" to look after the orphan children and bear their expenses of education, food and other necessities.

 

This was announced by President Al-Khidmat and JI Karachi Ameer Muhammad Hussain Mahenti while addressing a press conference at Idara-e-Noor Haq here on Sunday, said a statement.

 

Talking to media, M. Hussain Mahenti said every person should contribute to the mission adding the media should play its due role to highlight the said noble cause.

 

On the occasion, the JI Karachi Ameer informed a sum of Rs 2500 per orphan child will be spent per month while Rs 30,000 per orphan child is to be utilised yearly.

 

He further said the Al-Khidmat will also look after those children who lost their loved ones in target killing incidents.

 

Mahenti said Al-Khidmat has a target to take care of 10,000 orphan children in current year adding the Orphan Care Programme is to kick off taking 100 orphan children from Karachi.

 

Al-Khidmat, through this Programme will provide monthly financial aid to the mother or close relative of the orphan children at their houses, Mahenti informed.

 

He informed that 600 orphan children have been registered under the Programme while a launching programme in this regard would be held on February 23 under the presidentship of the city's Ex-nazim Naimatullah Khan.

 

He further informed that the Al-Khidmat has established an orphanage by the name of "Aaghosh" of international level in Attock where 350 orphan children are getting free education from Montessori to Matric.

 

Such orphanages are also being established in Murree and Balochistan where 400 children will get basic facilities of life, he added.

 

He appealed to the citizens and media to play their due role in the said project.

 

Naib Ameers JI Nasrullah Shajih, Raja Arif Sultan, Secretary Information Zahid Askari, Manager Al-Khidmat Welfare Society Manzar Alam and others were also present on the occasion.
