SHANGHAI: Chinese shares rose 0.53 percent in early trade Wednesday led by gains in coal mining and metals companies following the rebound in global commodity prices overnight, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was up 15.78 points at 3,014.83. The Shanghai A-share index jumped 0.53 percent, or 16.50 points, to 3,156.69, while the Shenzhen A-share index added 0.12 percent, or 1.65 points, to 1,329.85.
