iba 400KARACHI: A two member team of the students of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, will participate in an international debate contest in Australia.

 

The team consists of Ms. Maham Aftab and Ms. Myra Saeed are both students of BBA and will take part in the Australasian Women Debating Championship (AWDC) being held in Melbourne from September 21 to 24.

 

They have been sponsored by the OBS Pakistan as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

 

The Chief Executive of the OBS Pakistan, Tarek Khan, hosted a reception for the IBA debating team.

 

Speaking on the occasion, he said that his firm is committed to try and make a positive difference in the life of the people.

 

Tarek Khan said that participation of the IBA team in the international contest would contribute towards fostering a soft image of Pakistan in the comity of nations.

 

He said that the participation would also help to promote confidence in the girls from Pakistan and enhance their talents and capabilities.

 

On the occasion, Tarek Khan also wished the IBA team well in their endeavours.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Maham Aftab and Myra Saeed said that they would do their best to perform well in the international debating contest and thanked the OBS Pakistan for the sponsorship.

 

They said that as many as 15 teams would be participating in the event and these include those from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the Philippines etc besides the IBA team representing Pakistan.
