KARACHI: Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik held a meeting with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain in London, said a statement issued by the MQM here on Monday evening.
They discussed law and order situation in Karachi and other matter of mutual interests.
The statement said that Rehman Malik assured Altaf Hussain that the government would make every effort to protect the life and property of citizens, including the business community of Karachi.
Talking to the volunteers of the Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation and MQM office-bearers and workers on Monday, Altaf Hussain paid glowing tributes to Rehman Malik for pleading the Pakistan's case in a forceful manner about war on terror.
Altaf Hussain said that he had asked Rehman Malik to stay in Karachi and evolve a line of action against extortion mafia, land mafia and kidnappers by holding joint meetings of the rangers, police and other law-enforcing agencies.
Altaf Hussain said that the law enforcers were sacrificing their lives in the war against terror.
