Irfan, who at present is on tour to Australia, and is part of the Pakistan squad for the upcoming five-match ODI series against the hosts, was informed of his mothers death during a practice session.

Irfan will take the first flight back home and will probably miss out on matches of the Australia series, reported local media.

Pakistan has already lost the three-match Test series against the hosts.

Whereas, Irfan departure would come as a major blow for the side looking for some redemption, as they face-off against the Aussies, in ODIs with first match to begin on Friday in Brisbane.

However, Pakistan cricket team expressed thier condolence on social media, and called for prayers for the deceased.
