imageKARACHI: Pakistan’s inform right-hand batsman, Babar Azam scored his maiden century against West Indies in the first One Day International (ODI) at Sharjah International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Azam posted 120 runs before he was dismissed by Carlos Brathwaite, thanks to a stunning catch by Kieron Pollard. However the crucial knock by the rising Pakistani star put his side at a comfortable position of 239 runs in 42 overs.

Babar Azam carried on with his good form, taking Pakistan to a comfortable position as he equally performed well with the bat in T20I series against West Indies also, scoring a crucial 55 runs to take Pakistan home in the first T20.

The bilateral ODI series is crucial for both Pakistan and West Indies, as the winner of the series would make a direct entry into ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019 to be held in England.
