imageThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the national cricket squad for an upcoming Bangladesh tour.

PCB newly elected chief selector Haroon Rashid, in presence of media announced the final Pakistani squad for Bangladesh tour starting from April 17.

The ODI squad will be led by Azhar Ali who has replaced Misbah-ul-Haq while Sarfaraz Ahmed will be the vice captain in all three formats. ODI squad includes Sarfraz Ahmed, Muhammad Hafeez, Fawad Alam, Asad Shafiq, Haris Sohail, Sohaib Maqsood, Saeed Ajmal, Yasir Shah, Wahab Riaz, Sami Aslam, Ahsan Adil and Rahat Ali.

T20 team will be led by Shahid Afridi and will include Ahmed Shehzad, Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohammad Hafeez, Mustar Ahmed, Sohaib Maqsood, Haris Sohail, Mohammad Rizwan, Saeed Ajmal, Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir, Saad Nasim, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Khan, Umar Gul and Junaid Khan.

Test team led by Misbah-ul-Haq will include, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Sami Aslam, Misbah ul Haq, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan, Haris Sohail, Saeed Ajmal, Yasir Shah, Zulfiqar Babar, Sarfraz Ahmed, Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan, Sohail Khan and Rahat Ali.

According to local media reports, Haroon Rashid said, “World Cup performance was also taken into account for the squad selection. The players dropped must prove themselves according to the merit devised by the PCB. A clear message is conveyed to the players that Pakistan comes first. Management is not going to compromise on discipline”.

“Bangladesh series would be our first assignment. We are looking forward and are working on a four-year plan. Currently our ranking is poor, we are at number 7 in One-Day Internationals,” Rashid added.
