imageLONDON: England captain Alastair Cook won the toss and elected to field in the fifth and final Test against India at The Oval.

England, 2-1 up in the series, were unchanged after their innings and 54-run win in the fourth Test at Old Trafford with fast-medium bowler Stuart Broad passed fit to play after suffering a broken nose in Manchester.

India made two changes to their side.

Fast bowler Ishant Sharma, the star of India's 95-run second Test win at Lord's, returned in place of Pankaj Singh after missing the third and fourth Tests with an ankle injury.

And India attempted to strengthen their batting by recalling seam-bowling all-rounder Stuart Binny in place of spin-bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

A wet outfield delayed the toss and start by 30 minutes but shortly after Cook called correctly, in overcast conditions, the sun started to break through the clouds in south London.

England paceman James Anderson started the match with 376 Tests wickets, seven shy of equalling Ian Botham's England record of 383.
