imageISLAMABAD: Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said it is disappointing that India has virtually cancelled his meeting with his Indian counterpart scheduled to be held on 24th of this month, but still Pakistan is ready to hold the meeting without any preconditions.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Saturday, he said the Indian attitude towards holding dialogue is disappointing and regrettable but Pakistan is committed under the Ufa meeting between the two prime ministers to make common effort for peace by holding serious dialogue.

Sartaj Aziz said it is regrettable that the Kashmiri leaders have been arrested by the Indian authorities prior to his visit.

He said it has been twenty years old tradition that whenever Pakistani leaders visit New Delhi they hold meetings with these leaders.

However, he said, despite the arrests of the Kashmiris leaders he is still ready to proceed to New Delhi to hold talks with an objective to move forward towards resolution of all outstanding issues for bringing peace.
