KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League (PML - N) government is committed to provide monetary assistance alongwith family support to the needy women under Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), said its Chairperson and Minister of State, Marvi Memon here on Saturday.
Addressing the people at the BISP regional office located in Malir, she said provision for Family Support under BISP is to help women without any compromise to their dignity.
"BISP is actually the programme of PM Nawaz Sharif under which the marginalised sections would be extended their due rights," said Marvi Memon.
She said Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is committed to uphold merit as the main criterion with due care that people who are genuinely in need are helped in the truest sense at their very door steps.
BISP Chairperson later addressing corner meetings, attended by women, at Quaidabad and Pipri - Bin Qasim areas vowed to stand true to the PM's confidence on her.
"Responsibility as BISP chairperson is a challenge for me and I would particularly ensure that women in need are truly assisted," she said.
Memon said PML (N) government, under the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is striving to improve the lives of the people in general while under BISP marginalised sections would be particularly focused.
"I am visiting you to convey P.M's message that the government is strongly committed to ensure economic stability for women of the country," the State Minister said.
I also promise you that BISP would reach each and every corner of Sindh alongwith other parts of the country," she added.
State Minister and BISP Chairperson said it is a cash payment programme equally focused to raise self respect among women.
