FAISALABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said on Monday that recent visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to China would help in bringing industrial revolution in the country.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of 132-KV grid station at M-3 Industrial City near Sahianwala, he said that protesters through their sit-ins in the federal capital had tried to stop the process of national development but the PM visit to China had foiled their attempt and opened new avenues of progress and prosperity.
Abid Sher Ali said that the PM visit would bring industrial revolution in Pakistan and electricity projects of 10400 megawatt would be completed in Pakistan. For this purpose, the PM also signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with China.
He said the PML-N government was striving hard to provide uniterrupted supply of electricity to the industrial sector round the clock.
He said that PM Nawaz Sharif has signed 19 MoUs with China for the completion of various development projects worth 45 billion dollar in Pakistan which would also help in bringing qualitative and quantitative change in the country besides improvement in their living standard at grassroots level, the minister added.
The minister further said the PML-N government has put the country on road to progress and prosperity despite facing critical situation created by the anti-democratic and anti-Pakistan elements.
Earlier, Khawaja Asim Khursheed Chairman Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) in his welcome address said that 132-KV grid station has been established at M-3 Industrial City at an estimated cost of Rs 300 million.
This grid station would provide 40 megawatt electricity to the industrial units of M-3 Industrial City whereas the FIEDMC in collaboration with the Punjab Power Development Company has already started work on coal power project of 100 megawatt at the M-3 Industrial City, he said.
Khawaja Asim further said that huge investment in M-3 Industrial City would not only accelerate the industrial activities in the area but also provide job opportunities to more than 300,000 people besides playing a pivotal role in enhancing industrial trade of the country.
