imageISLAMABAD: Scathingly condemning Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers assault on Parliament House and PTV, Chief of Qaumi Watan Party Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said that the Prime Minister enjoys support of the whole parliament and the parliament has decided that he would not resign at any cost.

Talking part in the discussion in the Joint Sitting, he said," the whole parliament is on back of the Prime Minister and now it is prerogative of the House that the Premier will not resign at any cost".

He urged all political forces in the parliament to join hands for protecting peoples mandate and democracy adding that the House would uphold the supremacy of the constitution and democracy.

Lauding Mussarat Ahmedzeb, Nisar Khattak and Gulzar Khan decision not to resign, Aftab Sherpao said that it is good omen that they supported the democracy, constitution and Parliament adding that they preferred to uphold sanctity of this august House.

He said, "We are in opposition and will continue our role once the current political impasse end. The opposition is not supporting Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz rather we are here for upholding supremacy of the Parliament, the constitution and democracy".

Terming the PTI and PAT sit-ins circus, he said that miseries of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) have gone in back burner and no one was paying heed to address their problems.

He said that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa was without any government for the past two weeks as the Chief Minister and other PTIs members were busy in the sit-ins with full protocol.

Regarding storming of protesters in the Parliament, Sherpao asked the Speaker to tell us about limits of the Parliament House. No political party ever stormed in the premise of state run television in the country's history, he said and added that impression was given internationally that power of the State was eroded.

Gone away the era of 1990, he said and added the now the politicians were fully matured and would never support any such move to derail the democratic set up. "The Prime Minister is on the chair and will remain on it," he asserted.

"Six times consecutive addresses of Asif Ali Zardari and President Mamnoon Hussain to the joint sitting of the Parliament reflect the parliamentarians maturity," he observed.

Whether this was a democracy where the elected President of PTI and other three members expelled from the party and then serve show cause notices, he questioned. He said that there should be courage and patience in democracy and politics.

Sherpao also offered Imran Khan to bring solid evidences of massive rigging in the elections; they would themselves request to dissolve the parliament. However, no one would support by mere leveling allegation without any proofs.
