ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday restored Arif Mahmood Gill`s membership of Provincial Assembly from the constituency of PP-59 Faisalabad on the basis of having genuine educational documents.
A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani restored the membership of Arif Mahmood Gill after going through the case filed by Muhammad Yonus a petitioner.
During the course of proceedings, Controller Faislabad Board of Intermediate apprised the bench that Gill's FA certificate was verified in compliance with the apex court order and found it genuine.
The bench observed that after verifying the educational certificates there was no reason to suspend the membership of Gill and ordered to restore it.
It is to mention here that his membership was suspended for more than six months which was restored today.
