imageISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday thanked those who made generous donations to the Prime Minister's Balochistan Earthquake Relief Fund.

He said that the passion of Pakistani citizens in standing united with the earthquake affected people of Balochistan, was highly appreciable.

Prime Minister's Balochistan Earthquake Relief Fund for the rehabilitation and relief of earthquake affected people of Balochistan was established immediately after the unfortunate earthquake that struck Awaran on September 25, 2013.People of Pakistan have generously donated to it.

So far the Government corporations have donated more than Rs. 100 million, federal and provincial Government employees and departments more than Rs 89 million, industrialists Rs 44.2 million, private companies and commercial banks more than Rs. 14.5 million, federal and provincial parliamentarians Rs. 17.1 million, universities and educational institutions Rs. 13.7 million, while more than Rs. 7.6 million have been donated by individuals in private capacity.

It may be noted here that these donations were presented to the Prime Minister in-person. Donations deposited directly into the fund at authorized banks are accounted for separately and are in addition to these donations.
