ISLAMABAD: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited(SNGPL) is taking solid measures to provide adequate gas pressure to domestic sector during Iftar and Sehri.
" Though we received low gas pressure complaints from a few areas of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on first day of Ramazan, but now situation has come to normal following change in gas load management plan for the CNG sector," an official of the company told APP here on Wednesday.
The official said the concerned staff had been directed to ensure operation of the CNG outlets according to the revised schedule, which, the source added, would help provide adequate gas pressure to the domestic consumers especially during Sehri.
On first Sehri, besides other areas, residents of the I-10 sector and Westridge part of the Rawalpindi had complaints of the low gas pressure, creating difficulties for them during Sehri.
"We hardly managed to cook Sehri due to the low gas pressure and the government should make some effective measures to maintain gas pressure during the holy month of Ramazan," Asghar, a resident to the I-10 sector observed.
He said there should be no issue of the low gas pressure the time when gas production was claimed to be increasing and if there was any issue at all then it was issue with distribution of the commodity.
Ms Sadia Gohar, a resident of Westridge said the low gas pressure multiplied the miseries of domestic consumers in our area during Sehri, compelling to use electric appliances to perform their household chores.
In order to maintain uninterrupted and good gas pressure to domestic sector during the month of Ramazan, the government introduced changes in the gas provision plan to the CNG stations.
The Gas Load Management Committee decided that gas supply be provided from July 30, from 6 AM to 3 PM and on July 3rd from 6 AM to 3 PM to CNG filling stations in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Multan Gujranawala, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Bahawalpur regions.
