Four members of a family die as passenger van plunges in ravine near Astur

GILGIT: Four members of a family died on the spot and three others sustained serious injuries when a van, hired by them to attend a wedding ceremony, plunged in a deep ravine near Astur last night.

 

The family was coming from Nasirabad, a mountain village. The accident took place as the vehicle slipped due to snow.

 

The deceased were identified as Muhammad Shafi son of Karim Khan, Farooque son of Abdul Rauf, Hadi son of Mir Aman and his brother Syed Muhammad. The injured were shifted to district hospital Gilgit.
