ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to exempt Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations from gas loadshedding across the country during Eid-ul-Azha.

The Ministry of Petroleum announced here on Monday that CNG filling stations will remain opened from October 26-to-29 to facilitate masses during the holy festival of Eid. Majority of Public Service Vehicles (PSVs), thousands of rickshaws, Suzukis, vans and other public PSVs are running on CNG. Currently, gas supply to the CNG stations in Punjab remain suspended for three days a week, while two days in Sindh.

According to Dr Asim Hussain, Prime Minister’s Advisor on Petroleum, the government is forced to suspend gas supply to CNG sector due to the large number of filling stations and users of CNG in the country.
