imageISLAMABAD: Envoys of seven countries on Tuesday presented their credentials to President Mamnoon Hussain at an impressive ceremony here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Those who presented the credentials included the envoys of Iraq, India, Czech Republic, Afghanistan, Thailand, Ireland and Cambodia.

Earlier the envoys arrived at the Presidency in a horse- driven carriage. National Anthem of Pakistan and their respective countries were played and guard of honour presented.

Later the Ambassadors and High Commissioners separately called on the President.

The President in his talk with the envoys said Pakistan was desirous of further promoting friendly and brotherly relations with all countries particularly with its neighbours for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.

The President said Pakistan offers numerous investment opportunities and the foreign entrepreneurs need to take advantage of country's investor friendly policies.

Regarding efforts against terrorism, the President said the nation has rendered great sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and was committed to end this menace.

He said Operation Zarb-e-Azb was progressing successfully and added the operation would continue till elimination of the last terrorist.

The President felicitated the newly appointed Ambassadors and High Commissioners to Pakistan and hoped they would focus on further cementing existing ties of their respective countries with Pakistan.

The President also wished the newly appointed envoys a comfortable and pleasant stay in Pakistan.

Ambassadors and High Commissioners who presented their credentials included Dr. Ali Yassin Mohammed Karim, Ambassador of Iraq, Gautam H. Bambawale, High-Commissioner of India, Jan Fury, Ambassador of Czech Republic, Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal, Ambassador of Afghanistan, Suchart Liengsaengthong, Ambassador of Thailand, Brendan Ward, High-Commissioner of Ireland (Resident in Turkey) and Pichkhun Panha, Ambassador of Cambodia (Resident in India).
