KARACHI: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has congratulated the party's candidates winning in third phase of Local Government elections in Sindh and Punjab and termed the results as encouraging in an environment where `PPP was subjected to worst propaganda'.
In a statement here on Sunday he said that a large number of PPP candidates have won their seats `despite the odds created by dictatorial forces and their front-men'.
He saluted to all the PPP candidates who stood to the ground and gave strong contest to opponents thus showing the strength that many political parties have been unable to maintain in similar situations, he added.
Bilawal said that PPP has won all the 23 District Councils in Sindh and won a sizeable number seats in Punjab adding that he is proud of the party voters and the Jiyalas who made this possible.
He congratulated the PPP leaders, workers and the office-bearers for their hardwork during the election campaign.
