imageNOWSHERA: Jamaat Islami, a coalition partner in KP Government Friday threatened to quit the provincial government led by PTI if their demands about inclusion of the chapters pertaining to ideology of Pakistan and Islam in education syllabus were not accepted.

"Our negotiations with the PTI were in progress against changes in the education syllabus and if it were not accepted in the next meeting due for September 24, then we will not compromise on our stance and will not hesitate in leaving the government", said Provincial Amir of JI Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim while addressing a press conference here on the eve of joining of JI by Syed Zahid Hayat Gilani.

The JI KP Chief said, the PAT and PTI should abandon their ego and stubborn attitude and should sit on the negotiation table for the larger interest of the nation and the country. Both sides should show some kind of flexibility, he said adding the country was bearing the brunt of prolong political crises.

He told that we accepted results of the 2013 elections for continuity of democracy as worst democracy was even better than dictatorship. The JI had demanded conducting elections through ROs from the judiciary, he said, adding the Election Commission should have kept a check on the Returning Officers on the Election Day.

Jamaat Islami, he said was the true face of democracy as it was above all kind of politics based on dynasty and added that kins of Amir Jamaat Islami cannot become head of the JI even they could not be made provincial amir of the party.

To a question, he said, no confidence motion against CM presented in the assembly in a bid to save it from being dissolved. The threat to the future of KP Assembly had arisen when Imran Khan on a number of occasions had hinted to dissolve the assembly.

He told a questioner that in areas cleared by the security forces in NWA, the repatriation process of IDPs should be started without any further delay and the government should make proper arrangements for their food, education and rehabilitation in their native areas.

Prof Muhammad Ibrahim said that the terrorists arrested by the forces in the operation Zarb-e-Azb should be presented before the media besides the damages caused to the men and property.
