ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Friday stopped the ministry of finance to interfere in the administrative and legal affairs of Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP),Bulnad Akhter Rana.
The court also directed the ministry of interior to provide an adequate security to the Auditor General of Pakistan as he receiving threats.
A single member bench of IHC comprising Justice Noor-ul-Haq N Qureshi resumed hearing of a plea filed by AGP Akhtar Buland Rana, seeking direction to restrain ministry of finance and Controller General of Accounts (CGA) Fareh Tareen from interfering in the administrative matters of AGP.
During the course of hearing, counsel for petitioner, Saeed Khurshid, apprised the bench that ministry of finance had been persistently interfering in his matters illegally while it was also instituting cases against him through police and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
He prayed the court to stop finance ministry officials from intervening in the AGP affairs for smooth functioning of the organization.
