RECORDER REPORT
LAHORE: There is no let-up in dengue spread, as over 60 dengue patients are under treatment in various hospitals across the province at present.
Sources claimed that as many as 671 confirmed dengue patients had been reported in Punjab so far as against 9,000 dengue patients in KP and 2,600 dengue patients in Sindh where 35 and 14 deaths had occurred due to dengue, respectively.
Sources claimed that increase in the number of dengue patients in KP was also affecting Rawalpindi and its adjoining areas due to visits of these affected people to those areas.
Secretary Health Punjab Hassan Iqbal said that due to clinical management by the doctors and "best" treatment facilities for dengue patients in government hospitals on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, no death occurred due to dengue during current year in Punjab.
He said that in view of the increasing number of dengue patients in Swat, other areas of KP and Karachi, government departments and agencies would have to remain alert.
