KARACHI: The Karachi police in their drive against criminals, arrested 53 accused from different areas of the metropolis during the past 24 hours.
A police statement on Tuesday said that those arrested include 16 absconders and proclaimed offenders.
It said that 15 weapons of different calibres were also recovered from those arrested.
As many as five people were killed in the metropolis in different incidents during the last 24 hours.
One of these was killed because of domestic dispute and another on a dispute relating to a piece of land and the remaining three lost their lives owing to `unknown reasons.'
Action was initiated against 195 people for violating ban on pillion riding.
