PESHAWAR: Federal Minister for Communications, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil Thursday affirmed that the upcoming general elections will be free, fair and transparent.
Talking to media, he said that the general elections will be held on time, adding that the people would vote on basis of performance.
It is the need of the time that undemocratic and unconstitutional measures will be avoided, he added.
He said that the government will dispose of all matters amicably. He said that the nation should remain satisfied that the election commission is reflecting its expectations.
The federal minister said that democracy in Pakistan had restored after huge sacrifices and he will have to follow the democratic norms for its salvation and continuity.
He said that undemocratic and unconstitutional measures will not only prove harmful for national economy, but also democracy and progress and development of the country.
He stressed need for guaranteeing protection of democracy.
He said that it is the victory of democracy that today government and opposition parties and nation share the same stance.
He said it is the need of national unity and solidarity to prevent the derailment of democracy.
