imageISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Tuesday directed the Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) to submit details of steps taken against the individuals involved in grey trafficking.

The three-member SC bench headed by Chief Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja and comprising Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Qazi Faez Isa heard the case regarding grey trafficking.

During the course of proceedings, the Chief Justice asked that the government recovered how much amount due to loss of grey trafficking. It was the responsibility of government to recover amount, he added.

The Attorney General informed the court that the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) signed an illegal agreement with International Calls Company during the tenure of previous government.

The Chief Justice remarked it seemed that the government was involved in the crime. The AGP suggested that the government should collected Rs 100,000 on daily basis from the accused involved in grey trafficking. He said that Rs 2 call was charged at Rs 9.

The court directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to submit record of on-going investigations against the former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and adjourned hearing of the case till August 31.
