ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall in the country eased to 2,300 MW as the total generation on Thursday was recorded as 8,900 MW against the demand of 11,200 MW at 0900 hours.
According to daily data released by National Transmission and Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC), the hydel generation stood at 2,350 MW, Thermal 1,180 and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) 5,370 MW.
The hydel generation has also improved as the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) increased water discharge from both water reservoirs Tarbela and Mangla dams.
Meanwhile, some 132 KV circuits in Lahore and Faisalabad tripped due to heavy fog.
