MULTAN: Wheat production could be yield by sowing recommended wheat varieties by the agriculture department at proper time, said agriculture information spokesperson.
According to a handout issued by the agriculture department here on Saturday, the agriculture information spokesperson advised wheat growers of irrigated areas to start sowing of wheat varieties Lasani-2008, Faisalabad- 2008, RE-2011, Punjab-2011 and Millat-2011 from Ist Nov and could be sowed by Dec-10.
Similarly, proper time of sowing of wheat variety Aas2011 would start from 10 Nov and continued by Dec-15. While NARC from Nov-Ist to Nov-15 and Galaxy-2013 from Ist Nov to Nov- 30. Sowing of Fareed 2006 and Meeraj 2008 varieties could be made from Nov-10 to Dec-15.
A spokesperson said the late wheat sowing could cause decrease in wheat production and urged growers to sow wheat crop at proper time.
