WASHINGTON: US Supreme Court instructed a lower court Monday to review a Christian university's challenge to President Barack Obama's landmark healthcare reforms on grounds that it violates religious freedom.
The Supreme Court said the federal appeals court in Virginia should consider the case "in light of" its own ruling in June to uphold the health insurance mandate at the heart of what critics deride as "Obamacare."
Given that the nation's top court has validated the healthcare reforms after hearing a challenge by 26 states opposed to the legislation it is considered likely that the appeals court will do the same.
