ISLAMABAD: Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday said that the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) speakers conference will promote the positive image of Pakistan across the world.
Talking to Pakistan Television, Deputy speaker said that SAARC speakers to be informed about the four years performance of parliament.
He said that provincial speakers would also attended the conference along with delegation.
"It is an honor for Pakistan to hold a SAARC conference". The main agenda of the conference is to strengthen democracy, but it will also focus on regional and security issues, he said.
Faisal Karim Kundi said that SAARC was an important forum to discuss regional issues, including poverty, food, security, peace, education and health.
He said that democracy in Pakistan was in transitional phase and it should continue as its impact should be felt across the region.
