  • Jibran says the government's response to COVID-19 has been nothing short of exemplary.
  • I witnessed the Tabdeeli Imran Khan promised, says Jibran Ilyas.

(Karachi) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf social media team member Jibran Ilyas has praised the Imran Khan-led government for bringing home stranded Pakistanis from abroad and taking effective measures to deal with coronavirus pandemic.

Sharing his experience on social media from travelling to coming back home safely and living in quarantine, Jibran mentioned that he had been waiting to come to Pakistan since March 20 to meet his family but he was unable to reunite due to travel bans.

When he heard about the commencement of limited PIA flights by the Pakistani government, he came to Islamabad via Toronto.

He said social distancing was practiced on PIA flights and all staff followed safety procedures. On arriving at Islamabad airport, he stated that they had to register for COVID-19 tests. For the purpose, they submitted details, including travel history and CNIC.

After registration, they were issued a tracking number and the tests for coronavirus were performed with great care. He mentioned the medical staff also got his temperature tested which turned out to be normal. He said they were  also interviewed about their health condition and after getting  a satisfactory response, he was allowed to proceed to immigration counter.

The PTI member said that throughout the process social distancing procedure was followed. Jibran stated that his family members who came to pick him up were kept at a distance and he along with other passengers was escorted to the hotel in buses by security staff.

He said they were kept at the hotel to wait for coronavirus test results. Regarding the hotel, he said that the room was of high standard and families were advised to get separate rooms. He said the process of check-in was smooth and good quality food was served in rooms to ensure successful quarantine.

He said after a day, he got his COVID-19 result that turned out to be negative.

Jibran praised the PTI government's measures and the dignified treatment that he and others received during the whole process. He remarked, "I witnessed the Tabdeeli Imran Khan promised."

He maintained the overwhelming treatment by Pakistani authorities had made him forget the depression he went through over the last two weeks being separated from his family.

"The government's response to COVID-19 has been nothing short of exemplary," he remarked.
