BUDAPEST:  Hungary's core inflation adjusted for the effects of indirect taxes, the central bank's closely-watched measure of lasting inflation trends, rose to 2.9 percent in December from 2.7 percent in November, it said on Tuesday.

"Inflation adjusted for the effects of indirect taxes rose slightly in December, which was mainly due to an increase in the price index for processed food," it said in a monthly assessment.
