Govt to ensure good governance: Information minister
ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage Barrister Ali Zafar on Thursday said interim-government would take all possible steps to ensure good governance in the country.
The interim set-up was facing some challenges, but all the measures would be taken to address them, he said talking to a private news channel.
Commenting on Election Commission's decision about the interim chief minister of Punjab, he said under the Constitution, the Election Commission had the right to take final decision regarding the chief minister, if political parties failed to reach a consensus over the name of a person.
To a question he said, “We are taking steps for conducting free, fair and transparent general election in the country.”
The purpose of the interim-set up was to conduct the elections in a transparent and peaceful environment, he said.
To another question he said, “We will apprise the public of the challenges being faced by the interim-government.”
