Improved law and order promoting business activities

RAWALPINDI: The five-day Rawal Expo 2018, organised by Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), kicked off in a colorful ceremony at Topi Rakh Auditorium, Ayub Park here on Wednesday.

Federal Minister for Commerce Pervez Malik inaugurated the expo. The five-day exhibition will end on April 15.

On this occasion, the federal minister, while addressing the media, said that PML-N government policies had improved the overall security situation in the country.

Business friendly policies attracted the foreign investment and improved the confidence of businessmen, he added.

He appreciated the RCCI for organising the event and said that these expos play a vital role in boosting business activities in the city. He said that traders are playing their key role in strengthening the economy and they are making their useful contribution in the collection of taxes.

He said the Government has given many incentives to traders and industrialists. We have made Zero load shedding for Industries, domestic consumption has also improved, and more megawatts have been injected in the system, adding plenty of gas was available for fertilizer and textile units.

The minister said that law and order situation in the country has improved and trade activities are flourishing. We must appreciate and salute the courage of our armed forces whose sacrifices have brought peace in the country.

He said democracy is the ultimate destination of economic prosperity, adding that if we had elections after five years the country would have been in a new shape, and prosperous.

He asked the private sector to come forward and play its due role for boosting trade and business activities.

President RCCI Zahid Latif Khan on the occasion said the expo aimed at increasing business activity and provide people entertainment. He called on the government to provide a dedicated site for organizing expos, which he said was essential for holding trade and industrial exhibition in the city.

During five-day exhibition, industrial products are being displayed and buyers will have the facility to book the orders on the spot. Industrial products, garments, leather products and furniture also displayed on the occasion. Auto show, puppet show, food court, children playing area and family gala are being organized to attract and entertain families and children.

President RCCI also presented a memento to the federal minister on this occasion.
