KARACHI: A 77-year-old man died of dengue fever at a hospital on Monday, however, health department officials have denied any deaths from dengue.

Marghoob Ahmed, a resident of Malir, was admitted in a hospital few days ago due to high grade fever and headache. The patient died due to dengue fever during treatment.

Prevention and Control Program of Dengue Sindh Program manager Dr Abdul Rasheed Sheikh denied any death due to dengue fever. He said that they had not received any such information from any hospital in the city.

In Karachi, upto 1,250 dengue cases have been reported throughout the city, of which seven people have died from dengue fever in Karachi so far this year.
