imageISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday sought reply from the Housing Ministry on a petition challenging appointment of new Director General of Public Works Department (PWD) Ali Akbar Sheikh.

The counsel for the petitioner pleaded that Ministry of Housing and Works did not get approval from the competent authority for the appointment against a BPS-21 post, setting aside all codal formalities.

The bench comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Saddiqui heard the petition and summoned the respondents in the case.

The court issued notices to respondents including Secretaries Ministry of Housing and Works and Establishment Division, and Managing Director National Construction Company Limited.
