ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning Development and Reforms, Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday called on Minister President's Delivery Unit, Indonesia, Kuntoro Mangkusubroto.
The ministers discussed matters of mutual interests with special reference to enhancement of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, said a statement received here.
Kuntoro Mangkusubroto expressed appreciation for the policies of government of Pakistan towards transparent and open governance and extended invitation to Government of Pakistan to join "Open Government Partnership" (OGP) as a member.
He also invited Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to attend OGP Summit to be held in New York on September 23, 2014 during UN General Assembly.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal who is currently visiting indonesia thanked Indonesian Minister and apprised him about the new initiatives of the government that it has taken to promote merit, transparency and citizen engagement.
The minister further informed that governance reform was top agenda of the government of Pakistan Muslim League (N) for prosperity and development of the country.
He said that due to sound economic policies and transparency, the country is beginning to see recovery from economic meltdown.
