imagePESHAWAR: Mian Iftikhar Hussain, a leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Thursday prayed for success of dialogue process with Taliban and assured support of his party.

Talking to media here, he said that ANP did not see any seriousness in conduct of dialogue process, yet ANP wish success of dialogue for peace in the country.

He criticized Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan for giving an option to Taliban to establish their office, saying that there were as many as 35 Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan groups and in such a situation PTI would have to set up a complete secretariat for Taliban offices.

Mian Iftikhar said that although ANP believed in peace and dialogue process, but it did not mean that the government should not show resistance to any terrorist act, especially when it involved killing of innocent people.

He said dialogue was only considered when the opponent showed willingness to surrender the arms and accepted the writ of government.

Responding to a question, he alleged that the poor performance of PTI government was well known to everyone. He claimed two provincial ministers were removed earlier on charges of corruption and seven more provincial cabinet members were accused of corruption.

He claimed Imran Khan is reluctant to take action against seven other ministers as the PTI would have to quit the government, if they were removed.

He alleged that the PTI government had failed to initiate development projects in the province, despite having billions of rupees.

He criticized hiring of 15 consultants by provincial government in public health, irrigation and attached departments, despite the fact that five chief engineers were working at these departments.

To another question, he expressed hope that tripartite alliance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would clean sweep in local government elections and would work for prosperity of the people.
