Tokyo stocks up 0.96pc by break

tokyo-stock-exchange TOKYO: Tokyo stocks rallied on Wednesday morning, jumping 0.96 percent as investors digested news of the Bank of Japan's latest monetary easing measures.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange added 84.46 points to 8,926.44 by the break, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares rose 0.93 percent, or 6.84 points, to 740.30.
