pak rupee2 400ISLAMABAD: Renowned economist Dr. Qaiser Bengali has urged investment in infrastructure in order to come out from economic recession.

 

Talking to a private TV channel, he said that there is no assessment has been made yet on account of economic loss during flood of 2012.

 

He suggested that towns should be reconstructed at high grounds because it is prediction of the met office that unexpected rain will continue in future, therefore, construction of new towns at safer places is dire need of the hour.

 

Secondly, there is no effective drainage system in Sindh and stagnant water became cause of water-borne diseases, he stated adding that pump system should be established besides a comprehensive plan for drainage.

 

On a query, he said that post 9/11 investment in Pakistan is nothing as liquid investment has been made in stock exchange that can evaporate anytime.

 

Asset creating investment in manufacturing sector has not been made during the last ten years, he explained.
