KARACHI: The District Municipal Corporation (DMC), Karachi South, has declared emergency in view of the expected rain in the city from Wednesday to Saturday.
This was stated by the Administrator of KMC Karachi South, Muhammad Raisi, on Wednesday.
He informed that an emergency control centre has been established at the main office of KMC South near Haqqani Chowk with phone numbers 99211429 and 99211390.
This centre, it was stated, would work round the clock so that the people could contact in case of any emergency.
The required manpower along with the necessary equipment would be available at the centre.
Muhammad Raisi has also canceled the holidays of the concerned personnel.
He said that in case of rains, all the sewerage pumping stations would be kept in working order.
Municipal Commissioner Karachi South, Noman Arshad, directed that the all the officers should ensure the attendance of the staff round the clock in three shifts.
