ISLAMABAD: Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the international community is bound to uphold human rights and resolve the Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) in accordance with the Kashmiris' aspirations.

The APHC Chairman was addressing the delegates and representatives of different countries at the 16th session of United Nations' Human Rights Council in Geneva, Kashmir Media Service reported.

"The world community can't shy away from its responsibility of upholding human rights and finding solutions to various disputes around the world which are causing human suffering and pain, be it Kashmir, Palestine or Afghanistan," he said.

On the occasion, most of the leaders from the Middle East supported the right to self-determination of the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir and emphasized that the world community can't act as mute spectators to the miseries of the Kashmiris.

The leaders included Muhammad Abdel Wahid Ghanem, exiled Egyptian leader, Dr Waleed Albanany, leader of the Al-Nahda Movement in Tunisia, Logman Ahmadi, leader Congress of Nationalities for the Federated Iran and Dr Ayman Ahmed Ali of Egypt.
